COMPONEX INTRODUCES THE NEWEST GENERATION OF WINERTIA AV™
Edgerton, WI, March 27, 2006 — Componex has brought design and engineering to a new level with the WINertia AV™ dead shaft idlers. Developed to eliminate trapped air between the idler and the web, the WINertia AV™ delivers more benefits than traditional spiral grooving. The AV rolls actually grip the web, minimizing scratching, slipping or bunching - even on thin films. This revolutionary design delivers a wide range of benefits and is an extremely economical alternative to the traditional spiral groove roll. Componex has introduced the WINertia AV™ in a 4 x 3 size.
As a member of the WINertia™ product line, the WINertia AV™ continues the Componex tradition of advanced lightweight aluminum idler technology. WINertia™ products run faster, smoother, cooler and with less whip, due to the lighter weight and a unique 3D balancing process. Precision 3D balancing is achieved through the patented design of the inner tubing wall. This design allows Componex to drive weights to the center of the idler tube along built in balancing lugs. This longitudinal balancing provides better performance for WINertia™ idlers.
The WINertia AV™ also comes with the signature Componex end cap detailing the serial number and part number. This serial numbering system allows detailed logging and tracking of information about each roll and is specifically tied in to balancing and quality control reports on that roll to make re-ordering easy. Componex also gives OEM's the opportunity to customize the end caps with their own identity.
The end cap is an essential part of the WINlock™ bore system, available exclusively on Componex idlers. The WINlock™ bore extends the life of the bearings by reducing the risk of contaminates via shielding the free spin bearings from dirt. Through a series of precision engineered and machined components, the WINlock™ bore system locks the bearing in and locks dirt out.
